As a professional basketball player in Mexico, performance was everything.


I trained hard. Pushed hard. Lived hard.

And like most athletes, I assumed if I was drinking enough water, I was hydrated.

Then my health collapsed.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, acid reflux, and eczema — these were the conditions that forced me to reevaluate everything: nutrition, recovery, stress, and the habits I thought were “healthy.”

At one point, a close friend shared a specific type of water with me.

I was skeptical. I thought water was just water.

I didn’t want to believe water could be that significant.

But my health forced me to stay curious.

So instead of dismissing it, I started studying the science behind it.
